Clean that pool

Not quite sure why cleaning this pool and keeping it in balance has become such a project, but it has. I've only been house sitting this house for a week but I didn't think pool maintenance is that complicated.

The pool immediately went green and we found there was ZERO chlorine in the water. We added the "floater" with chlorine tablets, vacuumed a few times and now added a "shocker" to make all the "green stuff" go to the bottom to be vacuumed.

I'm using a different pool maintenance guy because I think the previous was doing the minimum. Problem is as it gets warmer, rain water enters the pool and we use it more ... the more we need to stay on top of the chemical balance.   I'm also adding water from the street rather than the well.  Street water has some clorine added while the well has none

Then there's the pump, filter and maze of valves that needs to be understood to filter, back flush the filter and find a balance for the normal circulation timer.

Finding a straight line

Family and friends have been asking what's up after Shoe passed away and I'm here to say it's just back to work. I'm still staying in Shoe's old house and have asked for a two week extension into mid-May as I'll have a house sitting job starting then. Decided to house sit rather than live in the new house with all the finish work that needs to be done. That brings me to the floors they are working on now. When finished I'll let the workers go and I estimate in about 2 weeks.

So finding a straight line (or wall) in my house is not easy. Remember this started as a family project with not the best builders. The current guys have done their best to correct many of the issues but moving walls was not one of them.

Starting at the front door and wall we ran a line of tile into the dining room. From there through two doorways to the back room. Another over to the back door. This pattern will give an overall appearance of organized tiles but tile sizes along walls will vary as needed and will vary a lot.
