Living in a Fifth-Wheel

Well maybe - at least for short trips to the beach when I feel like getting away or working on the house. I located this one on the beach and they have offered to move it to my lot included in the reasonable purchase price. Haven't got my hands on it yet but will go down this week to talk to the owner, show him the property and route and leave a deposit. May be mid-next month before we move it. A friend checked it out a few days ago and says it's in good shape.

So now I get to learn all about big trailers and setting them up for a long stay in one place. Don't want weeds growing under so probably heavy plastic covered with gravel. Will have to run a new sewer line to the septic, run water line and electric, make a patio ... and a few plants and maybe a tree - yes a tree !! Hope I'm not getting ahead of myself but will know this week.

How does Mexico handle the transfer of title on a trailer? Same rules as vehicles?

I assume it is still registered up north and even tho he signs over the registration/title I won't be issued a new one.

It probably has a 10 year permit and they are just going to fly back and forth and not worry about the trailer.

My side of it is - it's just going to sit on the lot 'till I sell it or it and the property together

Fleetwood products are very good. Sounds like a good way to go and it looks very clean. Bueno amigo.

I assume this is going to be like living in the 28ft sailboat I once had without Puget Sound and the San Juans for a view. No heavy seas I hope

The construction of the house finished in April 2011 and I'm pretty much settled in. As of March 2014 I'm in preparation for rain mode for this coming summer. That includes sealing and painting things and dealing with drainage issues from last year.
